QiSoftware offers JSP Hosting.
I was reminded again last night-- why I like Java, especially server side Java [i.e., Servlets and JSP]. I had to switch one of the WiredPages interfaces-- which was reading from a JSP generated file to an RSS fetch. The RSS file being generated from the external source-- appears to be produced by a PHP script.
My interface, which is a Java Servlet/Applet combo, is a bit slower now-- in rending the data. I use server side Java quite a bit-- see WiredPages for demonstrations.
Why not see if JSP support is a solution that can speed up your site's request processes.
